A Beautiful Balance of Life

Nawadya was founded with the aim of reconnecting humans and nature through art and culture. Nawadya believes that the separation of knowledge about local culture and values from modern society is the root cause of environmental exploitation and degradation. In response to these issues, Nawadya collaborates with various cultural activists, artists, academics, and local communities to promote the essence of local culture in order to create balance in life.

Preserving

Indonesia has many tangible cultures that have high artistic value and are still circulating in society, both for functional and aesthetic purposes. However, on the other hand, intangible cultures are now beginning to be forgotten along with the development of modern society. Even though these cultures have values that enable humans to live in harmony with the environment. Based on a mini survey we conducted on campus, around 97% agreed that local culture has wisdom, but they do not understand the meaning of the culture they know. Unfortunately, the other 3% are not interested in learning about art and culture. The good news is that more than 60% of the younger generation are interested in attending and promoting local cultural arts performances. Therefore, Nawadya wants to preserve local culture for modern society through various means that appeal to them, such as audio-visual programs, educational programs, and art performances.
