Nawadya's birth aims to reconnect humans and nature through art and culture.
Nawadya views that the disconnection of knowledge about local culture and living values with modern society is the root of environmental exploitation and degradation.
Responding to these problems, Nawadya collaborated with various cultural activists, artists, academics and local communities to campaigning the essence of local culture in order to create a balance of life.
Indonesia has many tangible cultures that have high artistic value and are still circulating in society, both for functional and aesthetic purposes. But on the other hand, the intangible culture is now being forgotten along with the development of modern society. Even though this culture has life values that make humans live in harmony with the environment.
Based on a mini survey we conducted on campus, around 97% agreed that local culture has wisdom, but they don't understand the meaning of the culture they know. Unfortunately, another 3% are not interested in studying arts and culture. And the good news is, more than 60% of the younger generation are interested in attending and promoting local cultural arts performances.
Therefore, Nawadya wants to preserve local culture for modern society through various ways that are favored by them, such as audio-visual, educational programs, and art performances.
